New Delhi: Manas’ blistering half-century helped Titiksha Public School, Rohini beat Venkateshwara Public School, Dwarka Sec. 10 by 10 wickets in Group D league match of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup u-16 inter-school tournament, played at Titiksha Public School ground today.

Titiksha Public School won the toss and opted to field. With the help of new ball and fresh pitch, Titiksha Public School bowlers Rydhm (2/18) and Nandan (2/12) shattered the opposition’s batting line-up and didn’t allow them to settle down.

Their tight bowling and acute fielding of whole team bowled-out Venkateshwara Public School at 27.4 overs. Only Yash (57) and Parampreet (46) showed some resistance and took their team’s score to fighting 141 runs.

In reply, Titiksha Public School achieved the target without losing a wicket. Openers Manas and Dhruv took the advantage of weak bowling and smashed boundaries all over the ground. Manas hit a brilliant half-century but missed the century by 8 runs. Dhruv (41 n.o.), who supported Manas well, missed the half-century by 9 runs.

Manas was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his spectacular 92-run knock.

Meanwhile, in Group C league match, Raunak Sahni’s fearsome 5-wicket haul helped Faith Academy, Prasad Nagar beat Ramjas School, Pusa Road by 86 runs at Parmarth Mission Hospital ground.

Ramjas School won the toss and opted to field first. But they did not use their bowlers well and failed to stop Faith Academy batsmen to score 168 runs.

Himanshu (3/21), Ravi Khanna (2/35) and Ankit Kanwar (2/37) destabilised Faith Academy’s batting line-up and bundled them out in 28.1 overs. However, Anupam Kumar (28) and Amrinder Singh (22) managed to build a partnership and took their team’s score to respectable 168.

In reply, Ramjas School were bowled out at a meagre score of 82 runs in 23 overs. Raunak Sahni’s deadly bowling and his 5-wicket haul rattled the opposition’s batting line-up. From the other end, Kashish Grover (3/11) didn’t allow the batsmen to breath freely.

Raunak was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his terrific bowling.
