Delhi Public School beat Bharat Public School in Coca Cola Cricket Cup

New Delhi: Kunal Dabas’s marvellous century and 2-wicket haul helped Delhi Public School, Rohini beat Bharat National Public School, Karkardooma by a huge margin of 98 runs in Group G league match of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup u-16 inter-school tournament, played at Government School ground in Vikaspuri.

Bharat National Public School, Karkardooma won the toss and opted to field first. But their decision went wrong as Kunal Dabas smashed boundaries all over the ground and hit a brilliant century. With the help of Kunal’s 101-run knock, Delhi Public School scored 164 runs for five wickets in 30 overs.

In reply, Bharat National Public School failed to build any partnership and their wickets fell at regular intervals. Kunal showed his all-rounder skills and picked-up two crucial wickets. Kunal and Parth (2/12) helped their team to bowled-out the oppositions at a meagre score of 66 runs in just 19 overs.

Kunal was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his spectacular all-round show.

DPSR: 164 for 5 wkts in 30 overs (Kunal Dabas 101; Utkarsh 2/30).

BNPS: 66 all out in 19 overs (Neelesh Maglani 24; Parth 2/12, Kunal Dabas 2/19).

Meanwhile, in Group A league match, Sarthak Khera’s deadly 5-wicket haul helped Mata Jai Kaur School, Ashok Vihar beat Maharaja Agrasen School, Pitampura by 8 wickets in a low-scoring league match, played at Parmarth Mission Hospital ground.

Mata Jai Kaur School, Ashok Vihar won the toss and opted to field first. With the help of new ball and fresh pitch, medium pacer Sarthak Khera ripped-apart the top order of Maharaja Agrasen School, Pitampura. His five-wicket haul shattered the batting line-up and the oppositions could not overcome from the early jolts.

The remaining five wickets were claimed by Jasmeet Singh, who bundled-out the tail-enders by his acute bowling.

In reply, Mata Jai Kaur School chased down the meagre total by losing only two wickets. Jaspreet Singh (26 not out) and Japjot Singh (20 not out) remained unbeaten and achieved the target in 14.2 overs.

Sarthak was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his fearsome bowling and sending back the top-order batsmen.
