New Delhi: Parth’s responsible innings and Harsh’s tight bowling helped Salwan Public School (Morning), Rajinder Nagar beat Bal Bharti Public School, Ganga Ram Marg by 53 runs in a low-scoring league match of Group H in the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup U-16 Inter-School Tournament, played at Salwan Public School ground today.

Salwan Public School (Morning), Rajinder Nagar won the toss and opted to bat first. But they failed to score a big total against the lethal bowling attack from Bal Bharti Public School. Manav and Robin’s three-wicket haul restricted them at 33.4 overs.

Parth (30) and Vatsal (23) brought some steadiness in the batting line-up and took their team’s score at a respectable 139 runs.

In reply, Bal Bharti Public School could not chase the score and collapsed at a meagre total of 86 runs. Salwan Public School’s tight bowling and acute fielding bundled-out the visitors at 25 overs.

Harsh’s three-wicket haul led the bowling attack. He was also adjudged Man-of-the-Match.

Meanhwile in a Group C league match, Hitansh’s match-saving half-century helped Vikas Bharti Public School, Rohini beat St. Xaviers’ School, Shahbad by 8 wickets at St. Xavier’s School ground.

St. Xaviers’ School, Shahbad won the toss and batted first. But they failed to materialise the opportunity and bowled out at 112 runs. Vikas Bharti Public School bowlers Vaibhav (3/25) and Yash (2/20) restricted the oppositions in 28.3 overs.

St. Xaviers’ star player Sidhant showed some resistance with his 72-run knock and took his team’s score at respectable total.

In reply, Vikas Bharti Public School easily chased down the total in 21.1 overs by losing two wickets. Hitansh led the batting charge with his marvellous half-century. His 53-run knock was well-supported by Yash, who scored 30 runs.

Sidhant showed his all-round performance by taking a crucial wicket, but was not enough to restrict the oppositions.

Hitash was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his half-century.
