Mohali to host Under-16 camp from July 23

Mohali: After the successful completion of one month’s Under-19 camp on 15th July,2012, the academy has started the Under-16 camp which would run from 23rd July to 19th August,2012 at PCA Cricket stadium, Mohali. According to Mr. Sushil Kapoor, Administrative Manager, Specialist Academy Mohali 23 Under-16 trainees were picked up by the Junior National Selection Committee from the Nine Associations being catered by the BCCI Specialist Cricket Academy at Mohali. The selected players include batsmen, wicket keepers fast bowlers and spinners.  For the Under – 16 camp, Three players from UPCA, Three from Haryana, Four from Delhi, Four from PCA, Three from JKCA, Three HPCA,  and Three from Rajashthan Cricket Association have been selected.

The emphasis during the camp  will be on physical fitness, fielding drills, bowling drills, batting drills including  video analysis to iron out various deficiencies and flaws in the technique of the players.

Special emphasis will also be on mental toughness and the trainees would also be shown how to prevent and manage injuries. There will be prehab and rehab and also talks on nutrition and other aspects of the game including recovery and  individual counciling. The camp is being supervised by Three BCCI Level-III Coaches Mr. Munish Bali, who has just returned after a stint with Indian Women team, Mr. Amit Asawa from Rajasthan who has the distinction of helping Rajasthan to two Ranji Trophy Title Wins and Mr. Yoginder Puri the bowling coach. They will be assisted by  Dr. Satbir as Physio, Mr. Nishant Thakur as trainer alongwith Mr. Amit Kumar as Video Analyst.
