Maharashtra dominate opening day of National sub-junior basketball

Verna (Goa): The Maharashtra boys team, the defending champions, thrashed Chhattisgarh 65-32 in their opening match of the 39th Sub-Junior Boys and Girls National Basketball Championship at the Agnel Complex here Tuesday.

The Jammu and Kashmir boys team were completely listless against Delhi, scoring only two points as Delhi cruised to the easiest of wins at 45-2.

The Tamil Nadu boys team defeated Odisha 51-37.

Kerala's girls, who have always been a force to reckon with, came out on fire against West Bengal, defeating them 44-11.

The Haryana girls made a memorable start, routing Gujarat 52-4.
