Chandigarh: Local cricket team took a huge step towards winning the ML Markan Trophy, as they secured a crucial first innings lead against Mohali played here at the YPS School today.

Batting first the Mohali bundled out for 224 runs, Ramandeep Singh scored 105 off 216 which was laced with 19 boundaries and one six.

Bhagminder was the pick of the bowlers who returned with figure of 79 for five.

In reply, Local team scored 227 by six wickets at the close of second day’s play.
