Sehwag’s ton helps Kulachi Hansraj beat BHS, Alkapuri

Mumbai: Skipper Siddharth Sehwag’s marvelous century helped Kulachi Hansraj, Delhi beat BHS Alkapuri, Baroda by a huge margin of 155 runs in a league match of the Coca-Cola Inter-State League cricket tournament on Wednesday, played at ELF Vengsarkar Academy in Mumbai.

 

BHS Alkapuri, Baroda won the toss and opted to field first. Soon they realised that their decision went against them. Their poor bowling attack allowed the oppositions to put-up a mammoth target of 351 runs for six wickets in 45 overs.

 

Kulachi Hansraj, Delhi Skipper Siddharth Sehwag lead the charge with his whirlwind knock of 119 runs in just 97 runs. He smashed ten fours and two huge sixes in his murderous century.

 

The Captain was well-supported by Nitin Tanwar (77) and Suraj Rai (51 not out), both smashed half-centuries to take team score to 351 runs.

 

For BHS Alkapuri, Baroda, only Romeil Rai got some success with his two-wicket haul.

 

In reply, BHS Alkapuri skipper Akshay Brambhatt also played a captain’s knock to prove his team’s ability to chase a huge score. Akshay scored 101 runs with the help of 15 fours. But he didn’t get support from other batsmen and the team never achieved the winning run-rate.

 

Kulachi Hansraj bowlers bowled with perfection and discipline to restrict the opponents at 196 for 6 wickets in 45 overs.

 

Siddharth Sehwag was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for his spectacular century.
