Chandigarh: The Chandigarh zone lifted the Western Air Command Inter-area Handball Championship after defeating Hindon Area in the three-day event that concluded at the Air Force Station here today.

A total of five teams participated in the championship which was played under league-cum-knock out basis.

In the final, the winning side defeated Hindon Area by 28-14. In total eight matches were played. Chandigarh zone won the trophy and Hindon Area secured the second place. The teams of Palam, Adampur and Bhatinda area secured third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.
