Visakhapatnam: Sampath Memorial FC beat Diechmann FC by 3-1 in a penalty shoot-out and hence moved into the quarterfinals of the third Vizag Steel Cup football tournament at the Trishna ground, Ukkunagaram here on Monday.

Polamamba FC was awarded the match after its opponent was found to have fielded players who are registered with another club.

On Sunday, Attili Suribabu Memorial FC downed Allipuram FC 2-0. Shanu and Ganesh were the scorers.
Sagar Soccers edged out Kunchamamba FC 4-3 in the tie-breaker.

Lakshman, Yellaji, Jagadeesh and Appala Raju scored for Sagar while Kiran, Joshi and Uday converted for Kunchamamba.
