Kerela thrash Delhi in 26th Federation Cup

Kochi: Kerala women gave a tough fight to Delhi (67-53) and topped Group ‘B' in the 26th Federation Cup at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium on Friday.

Perfect with passes and smart with steals, the Kerala girls went on a scoring spree with the tall and very talented P.S. Jeena and Soniya Joy leading the charge with point guard P.S. Neenumol doing her job smartly.

Kerala raced to an amazing 24-8 lead in the first quarter. With the host leading 52-34, Delhi slowly fought back. And when Raspreet Sindhu hoisted a three, Delhi was just seven points behind at 58-51. The host's tall centre Stephy Nixon went out with five fouls and with about two and half minutes to go, Delhi captain Pratima Singh made her exit with five fouls.
