New Delhi: The Central Reserve Police Force, CRPF claimed the overall championship in the all-India Police athletics meet that finished at the Nehru Stadium on Thursday. Where Punjab Police came second.
Ravindra Rautela of Uttarakhand, winner in the men's 1500 metres, and Saraswati Chand of Orissa, winner in the women's 200 and 400m, were adjudged the ‘best athletes'.
On the concluding day, National record (8.08m) holder Amritpal Singh could manage only 7.58m in long jump, while Pankaj Dimri who caused a sensation in 2010 with a 1:46.26 win in the 800m in the inter-State meet at Patiala, clocked 1:53.61.
