Mumbai, 23 October 2026: The JSW Indian Open squash tournament will return for its third edition from 9 to 13 February 2027 at Mumbai Gymkhana, with the women’s event upgraded to Silver level on the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour.
It will be the first women’s Silver-level PSA tournament held in India. The men’s event will be played at Copper level.
The higher grade means a stronger international field in the women’s draw, giving Indian players the chance to face better-ranked opponents without leaving home.
Indian squash on the rise
The announcement follows India’s five squash medals at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, two silver and three bronze. Anahat Singh won silver in the women’s singles, and India also won medals in the team and doubles events.
Anahat, Abhay Singh, Ramit Tandon, Veer Chotrani and Velavan Senthilkumar are among the Indian players who have climbed the world rankings in recent seasons. Abhay and Anahat won the singles titles at the 2026 edition of the tournament in March.
Squash makes its Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028.
What the organisers said
“Hosting India’s first-ever women’s Silver-level tournament on the PSA Tour is a significant milestone and reflects our commitment to creating stronger competitive opportunities for women in squash,” said Divyanshu Singh, chief executive of JSW Sports.
Manisha Malhotra, president of the Inspire Institute of Sport, said events such as the Indian Open give players international exposure and a chance to measure themselves against leading opponents.
Details of the entry list, draw and tickets will be announced later.
