My memories of sport will always stay fresh and will never fade. I have been involved in sport since my school days, from the sixth or seventh standard, to be more precise. It was those PT periods that I used to wait for. There was always great excitement about sports days and other events at school. In the 11th standard I was made sports captain of the school, which was like a dream come true. I have played in the Baseball Nationals at junior level. Those national camps and tours were learning experiences that helped me grow as an individual.
It was college that really made me understand the importance of sport in life. University camps and inter-college tournaments played an important part in my life. They gave me precious memories, new friends and new lessons for life. It was not just the practice sessions that made me realise the importance of teamwork and togetherness, but also the off-field interaction and fun with my teammates. Memories of lying on the ground for hours after practice are still fresh in my mind. I truly miss those days and wish I could go back and live them again.
