HITS
Jacques Kallis: Kallis proved his worth once again as he took a couple of wickets and scored 41 runs too. He has been the cornerstone for KKR since his inclusion in the squad.
Chris Gayle: Gayle was very slow in his approach against KKR. He scored 33 runs off 36 balls that he faced. He tried to hold the innings for quite a long time but he kept running out of partners which created a pressure situation for him.
Sunil Narine: Narine did some fine job as he picked up the four wickets in his four overs and ended up giving just 22 runs. His mystery bowling deceived Gayle and Saurabh Tiwary and he bagged their priced wickets.
Vinay Kumar: He bowled brilliantly and took couple of wickets in his spell of 3.2 overs as he gave away just 17 runs. He got the wicket of Gautam Gambhir and Manoj Tiwary, who were looking in good touch with the bat.
Murali Kartik: Kartik bowled a brilliant spell of spin bowling and kept challenging all the batsmen that he bowled to. He gave away just 17 runs in his four overs and picked up the crucial wicket of Yusuf Pathan.
Manoj Tiwary: Tiwary did some fine batting in crunch situation and smacked 24 runs. He kept getting the boundaries which took off the pressure from other batsmen. Though he failed to finish it off for KKR but did a great job.
FLOPS
Abhimanyu Mithun: Mithun was smacked for 37 runs in his four overs. He hardly bowled in correct areas and paid the price for that. He also misjudged an easy catch while fielding at third-man.
Saurabh Tiwary: Tiwary failed once again as he was undone for just one run by Narine. He failed to read the wrong one bowled by Narine and was sent to the dug-out.
Chetashwar Pujara: Pujara scored just five runs off 14 balls and his slow approach backfired quite badly.
Virat Kohli: Kohli has been on line of fire when it comes to bowling changes that he makes. He didn’t use Moises Henriques in initial overs and went for Abhimanyu Mithun which turned out to be a disaster.
Manvinder Bisla: Bisla was sent back to dug-out on the second ball of the KKR’s innings. He has been bit inconsistent in his batting and needs to work out on that.
