Skipper of Kings XI George Bailey won the toss and decided to field first, a decision which might have made him regret at the end of the first innings as Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to post a more than formidable total on the board. SRH went off to a flying start, thanks to their opening partnership between Aaron Finch and Shikhar Dhawan. The pair put on 65 runs on the board in the first 8 overs which paved the way for the likes of Warner and Ojha to go after the bowling.
Naman Ojha played like he has never before, taking on the Kings XI attack as Warner at the other end did not spare the bad balls either, making it almost look like a club match as the duo put on 79 runs in no time. Warner made 44 before he was run out but Ojha continued the onslaught and remainerd unbeaten on 79 off 36 balls, giving Kings XI a target off 206 runs to chase.

Punjab had to get off to a flying start in order to chase such a mammoth total but it was not to be the case as they lost Sehwag in the first over which brought the young wicket-keeper batsmen from Bengal Wridhiman Saha at the crease. In a stage as big as this opportunities don’t always come knocking at your doorsteps but when it came Saha made sure he grabbed it with both hands. Saha along with Manan Vohra made mince meat of the Hyderabad bowling as the pair put on 91 runs in almost 7 overs.
Saha departed after making a brilliant half-century in 25 balls and the stage was set for the likes Maxwell, Miller and Bailey to make full use of the start. Maxwell and Miller continued from where they left off in the previous matches and slowly the target off 206 runs looked too little for Punjab. Bailey finished it off in style as Punjab won the match by six wickets in 18.4 overs.
