Boys are confident and waiting for World Cup to start: Sardar Singh

New Delhi: Indian men hockey team arrived at The Hague, Netherlands on Thursday to participate in the Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014. After reaching the final destination for the World Cup, Indian Team had a light recovery session and the team is looking forward to the all important tournament and the first crucial match against Belgium.

Speaking on the weather conditions, training and upcoming challenge both Sardar Singh and Terry Walsh shared their thoughts from The Hague.

Terry Walsh, Chief Coach of the Indian men hockey team said, “We had a light recovery session after arrival here. The boys are in good spirits and have quickly settled into familiar surroundings here in The Hague.”

Captain Sardar Singh said, “We reached here yesterday and the weather conditions are great. We are feeling the excitement of the Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014 in the air and we all are looking forward to the much awaited tournament. I am feeling proud that I will be representing the country for the second time in a big tournament and we as a unit will put our best efforts and give a tough fight to the opponents.”

“Our first match is with Belgium and we are fully geared up for it. We will stick to our strategies and planning put in place by the coaches. I can just say that all the boys are fully motivated and confident of doing well in the tournament.”
