Istanbul: The India final of one of the finest and biggest events on the corporate golf calendar – the Audi quattro Cup 2014 tees off at the very challenging Kamer Golf and Country Club here on Saturday. As many as 13 teams consisting of two players each from 13 different cities will be battling for a spot in the World final to be held at Dubai later during this year.
The teams, who arrived here on Friday, went through their paces to acclimatize themselves with the course conditions before the final round on Saturday. Played on a unique “Greensome Stableford” format, where a team consisted of two golfers drawn randomly and the top team from each of the 13 centres qualified for the Audi quattro Cup India finals. Additionally one more team, drawn randomly, got an opportunity to join the National finalists as wild card entrants.
The Audi quattro Cup tournament series, established in 1991, has become one of the most celebrated amateur golf tournaments in the world bringing together over 85000 golfers from 54 countries. The Indian circuit of Audi quattro Cup will see more than 1300 golfers vying for honours.
