Seven-member Indian Team for IAAF World Junior Championships

New Delhi: A seven-member Indian Junior Athletics Team, comprising of five women and two men, will participate in the IAAF World Junior Championship to be held at Eugene (USA) from July 22-27, 2014. The Indian team will leave for the US here on Monday.

The members of the squad are -- Jessy Joseph, Archana Adhav, Navjeet Kaur, VV Jisha, GK Vijay Kumari, Sachin and Parvinder Kumar. Chief coach and Droncharya JS Bhatia will be accompanying the Indian junior team.

On eve of the team's departure Bhatia said, "This batch is being looked upon as the future of Indian athletics and we're hopeful of some good performances from the youngsters."

Junior women: Jessy Joseph (800m & 4x400m relay); Archana Adhav (800m & 4x400m relay); VV Jisha (4x400m relay), GK Vijay Kumari (4x400m relay); Navjeet Kaur (shot put).

Junior Men: Sachin (discus throw); Parvinder Kumar (javelin throw).
