Saina, Kashyap to play in Syed Modi International India Grand Prix Gold Badminton Tournament

Lucknow: Top Indian shuttlers P Kashyap in the men’s section and Olympic bronze medallist Saina Nehwal in the women’s section would be the biggest attraction at the USD 120,000 prize-money Syed Modi International India Grand Prix Gold Badminton Tournament, scheduled to start tomorrow, at the Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium, BBD UP Badminton Academy here.

Uttar Pradesh Badminton Association is organizing the six-day event with the opening day of the prestigious event witnessing just qualifying matches. The real action starts on Wednesday, when all the top guns rub shoulders against each other.

P Kashyap and Saina Nehwal have been given top billing in the men’s and women’s singles, respectively. Current women’s national champion Sindhu has been seeded second, where as Ajay Jayaram is the seeded second in the men’s section. National men’s champion K Srikanth is the sixth seeded.
