Jaipur: Showing displeasure to BBCI’s decision of not allowing Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) a single IPL match at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the RCA on Friday wrote to Sunil Gavaskar, the board's interim president for IPL-related activities, expressing surprise over the board's decision to shifted Royals' home matches to Ahmedabad.
"Sir, Rajasthan Royals is a Jaipur-based franchise and their home matches have always been played at Jaipur. We have done all the necessary preparations to conduct these matches and sought permission from the government of Rajasthan for the same," RCA officiating KK Sharma wrote in a letter to Gavaskar, adding that the Government of Rajasthan has no objection for conduction of these matches in May, 2014 as elections are to be held on 17th and 24th April, 2014.
“Sir, we are surprised how governing council of IPL has shifted our home matches to Ahmadabad without even asking us. We shall suffer losses for the perpetration made as well as people of Rajasthan shall lose their right to see the home team perform in front of them. We would request you to kindly reschedule the itinerary and give us the due home matches as earlier,” he added.
