New Delhi: Army shooters are showing their strength continuously in Rifle and pistol shooting events at the 57th National Shooting Championship at Karni Singh Shooting Ranges in New Delhi.
On Sunday, Raj Chaudhary of Army captured the gold medal in the women's 50m Rifle prone event with a final score of 620.7, while Gujrat shooter Lajja Goswami won the Silver Medal with 618 points, Ruchira Arun Lawand of Railways gave her a very tough competition with a score of 617.6 points and bagged the bronze medal.
In the team event of 50m rifle prone women, Army's squad comprising Raj Chaudhary, Ruby Garg and Pallavi Sharma won a gold medal with 1833.5 points. Silver went to Maharashtra's team of Deepali Deshpande, Priyal Keni and Tejaswini Sawant who scored 1829.4, while Gujrat's Lajja Goswami, Anju Sharma and Gohil Mittalbahen had to settle for a bronze medal after getting 1819.9 points.
In Junior women 50m Prone Rifle event, Elizabeth Susan Koshi of Kerala sealed the gold with 615.2 points, while West Bengal's Jayashree Das won silver on score of 611.9, and NCC's Anjum Moudgil claimed bronze with 609.8 point, Soma Hazra gave a good fight with a score of 609.4 and remained on forth place.
