New Delhi: Olympian Shagun Chaudhary won the gold medal in women's Trap shooting event in 57th National Shooting Championship at Karni Singh Shooting Ranges, New Delhi. Shagun shot 12 clays to defeat Varsha Tomar in the finals, while Varsha shot only 9.
In another tie-shot of final, Shika Badhuria defeated Seema Tomar and won the bronze medal. Shikha scored 9 while Seema could only score 7.
In the semi-final round of this event Shagun, Varsha, Shikha and Seema scored 14, 11, 8 and 8 respectively, while Shreysi Singh was the top scorer with 67 in the qualification round. In the semi-finals she could score 6 points.
Shagun, Varsha, Shikha and Seema scored 65, 66, 62 and 62 in qualification.
Shreysi Singh won the Beretta Cup of women's trap event in a tie-shot with Varsha Tomar. Shreysi scored 5 against Vaasha, who shot 4 points for the title.
Elizabeth of Kerala won the gold medal at the 50-m range in the final of 50m Rifle 3 position women's event. She shot 452 to defeat Raj Chaudhary of Army who scored 449.7 to win Silver. Bronze medal of this event went to Rajkumari Rathore of Madhya Pradesh with 437.1 score. Lajja Goswami of Gujrat was forth with 425.5 score.
Elizabeth also won the Gold medal in the junior category of 50m Rifle prone with 573 score. The silver medal went to NCC's Anjum Moudgil with 567 and the broze won by Aparajita Singh of Madhya Pradesh, who scored 565 points.
In the 25-m Pistol junior men's event, Samarjit Singh of Uttarakhand scored 571 to win the Gold, whie Silver medal went to Army's Manpreet Singh on 570 score and Neeraj Kumar of Army claimed the broze with 570 points.
