New Delhi: Samresh Jung won gold in 25-metre standard Pistol event, while Olympic champion Vijay Kumar claimed bronze at the 57th National Shooting championship, which is being held at Dr Karni Singh Shooting Ranges, New Delhi.

Samresh, who is reresenting CISF, shot a good score of 576 points to win the gold at 25-metre range. Rajasthan's Mahaveer Singh bagged the silver with 569 points and Olympian Vijay Kumar of Army had to be satisfied with bronze on a score of 566 points in the 25m Standard Pistol event. Jaspal Rana of Delhi scored 561 points in this event.

In the junior category of 25 standard pistol event, Sunil Gurung of Army clinched the Gold medal with 554 points, while ONGC's Ajitesh Kaushal scored 552 to claim the silver. Neeraj Kumar of Army bagged bronze medal with a score of 547 points.

Olympic Gold medallist Abhinav Bindra will participate Air Rifle event at the 10-metre range on Sunday.
