Bhopal: The 24th National Canoe Sprint Championships is being organized by M.P Amateur Kayaking and Canoeing Association in collaboration with Directorate of Sports, Government of M.P under the aegis of Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association at Upper Lake, Bhopal from 15 to 20 January, 2014.

In these Championships of Kayaking and Canoeing, Canoe Sprints, Canoe Slalom (both Olympic & Asiad event), Marathon races and Canoe Polo will take place. More than 1000 Athletes (Men & Women) from all the corners of Country representing the 30 States/units eg, Kerala, Karnataka, A.P, M.P, Rajasthan, Manipur, Punjab, Assam, J&K , Delhi, Services, Police, Coast Guard etc will participate.

The organiser will provide free lodging, boarding and other hospitality to the athletes and officials during the Championships. More than 100 technical officials and volunteers will be engaged for this Championship.

The selection of Indian Team for Asian Games 2014 will also be held during this Championship.

The opening ceremony of the championships will be held on Jan 15 morning and the closing Ceremony will be held on Jan 20.
