Match No. 22: Pune Warriors vs Sunrisers Hyderabad: Players to watch out for

pune-vs-hyderabadPune Warriors India are pumped up after beating Chennai Super Kings and are ready to unleash themselves against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). It’s going to be very interesting contest as Dale Steyn would be looking to take on Aaron Finch and Steve Smith who were the match-winners for PWI against CSk. On the other hand, Rahul Sharma can be a key bowler on this slow surface of Pune along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Cameron White is in brilliant touch with the bat and can make the difference with his aggressive batting.

Here we bring to you the players to watch out for in the match Pune Warriors India (PWI) versus Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Pune Warriors India (PWI)

Aaron Finch: Finch was absolutely brilliant against the pace attack of Chennai Super Kings as he scored 68 runs off just 45 balls. He has that potential to turn the tables in just two to three overs and being in such an explosive form, he will be a treat to watch against Dale Steyn.

Steve Smith: Smith brought ample amount of difference to this side in his first match and PWI fans would love to see that kind of energy which can make them win their second match on their home turf. He blasted in the final overs to score 39 runs off 16 balls.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: Bhuvaneshwar was terrific with the ball against CSK. He gave away just 12 runs and on top of that he didn’t even concede a boundary. He bowled 15 dot balls in that match and was the most trusted bowler for his captain. Bhuvaneshwar needs to come up with these kinds of performances more frequently.

Rahul Sharma: Sharma is one of the best bowlers in this Pune Warriors outfit as he not only picks up wickets but also stops the flow of runs. His ability to bowl quicker through the air, which is very much similar to Anil Kumble, makes him a very dangerous bowler. In last match, he gave away just 24 runs and picked up the crucial wicket of Dwayne Bravo.

Abhishek Nayar: Nayar did very well in the last match as he picked up the wicket of Murali Vijay in his very first over. His ability to bat under the pressure is still being unused. PWI needs to promote him up the order and bring Ross Taylor at No. 4.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

Dale Steyn: Steyn is a genuine match-winner but he was smacked all over the park by Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen as he gave away 29 runs in his four overs. He won’t be an easy bowler for the opening duo of Robin Uthappa and Aaron Finch to take on.

Amit Mishra: Mishra can be a lethal bowler on the slow wicket of Pune and it’s going to be very challenging for the middle-order batsmen to hit him out of the park. He just needs to bowl in the right channel and the pitch will surely assist him. His last outing was not that impressive as he went for 28 runs in his three overs.

Ishant Sharma: Ishant needs to be a back-up bowler for Steyn. Steyn is already burdened up with responsibility and Ishant needs to take that away by bowling atleast one good over in final stages of the innings.

Cameron White: His on and off form is hurting SRH very badly and he needs to come up with some strong performances consistently. His ability to play big-shots are of no use if doesn’t stay at the crease till the last over of the innings. He needs to take responsibility to make this middle-order look good.

Thisara Perera: Perera has been a mixed bag till now. He needs to give his best in both the departments as he is the only all-rounder that SRH have in their team. He needs to be economical in his bowling otherwise it’s going to be a tough task for other bowlers to keep the pressure on opposition batsmen.
