IPL-Match No. 22: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Pune Warriors: Hits and flops

mishrawinsitforsrhSunrisers Hyderabad astounded Pune Warriors in a very exciting encounter at Subrata Ray Sahara Stadium, Pune. Hyderabad ousted Pune by 11 runs in a low scoring game and all credit for this win goes to Amit Mishra as first he batted beautifully with Biplab Samantray to put up a competitive total of 119 runs on the board and later took four wickets, including a hat-trick to outwit the Warriors.

Here we bring before you the hits and flops from the match:

Biplab Samantray: He played a stupendous knock on his IPL debut and scored run-a-ball 37 to get his team to a fighting total of 119 runs. His ability to keep his cool was the trademark of his innings and to wait for a loose delivery to punish it was his speciality. He needs to bat up the order and surely he can do wonders for SRH.

Amit Mishra: Mishra once again displayed an all-round performance as he scored 30 off just 24 balls while batting and then bowled an unbelievable over where he picked up four wickets. He ended up his spell with the bowling figures of 4/19 in his quota of four overs. He was given the Man-of-the match for his exceptional performance.

Thisara Perera: Perera was absolutely brilliant as first he got the opening duo out in quick succession and then took the crucial wicket of Abhishek Nayar. He was looking in great rhythm throughout his four over spell and he ended up giving just 20 runs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar: Bhuvneshwar was just ruthless with his swing bowling. He gave three early blows to SRH and got them into a very big trouble. His ability to chip in with wickets in quick succession made him almost unplayable on this track as he gave away just 18 runs.

Rahul Sharma: Sharma bowled brilliantly once again and picked up couple of wickets in his quota of four overs. He picked up the crucial wicket of Samantray when he was looking really dangerous and he ended up with the figures of 2/21.

Flops

Angelo Mathews: His ability to throw away the match is hurting his team very badly as he gave away 29 runs in his four overs and was the most expensive bowler for PWI. He should have taken much more responsibility in batting and should have played till the end but he got out in the penultimate over while going for a biggie.

Dale Steyn: Steyn has been unimpressive in his last two outings. He gave away 29 runs in his four overs which is simply way below his standards of bowling. He was not trying those yorkers which could have made huge difference in the initial overs.

T Suman: Suman was looking good at the centre but he got out after scoring 12 runs. He is the technically good and he should take the responsibility of staying over there for as long as possible so that other batsmen can play around him.

Cameron White: White was bowled out for a golden-duck by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. White should have seen that coming especially after what Kumar did with the first two batsmen which he got out earlier. White has not been much consistent with the bat and that is hurting SRH quite badly.

Hanuma Vihari: Vihari got out after scoring just one run for which he took eight balls. He does not have those attacking shots in his armoury and playing him up the order is not a safe bet. Vihari's shot-selection has been very poor so far.
