Pune Warriors India’s misery continued as they lost to Rajasthan Royals by 45 runs in the Indian Premier League match number 60 at the Sewai Man Singh Stadium yesterday. With the win Royals are now at the sixth position on the points table whereas Warriors are lying at eighth position.
Here are some of the hits and flops of the match:
Rajasthan Royals:
Hits:
Ajinkya Rahane: He is the man who has been shouldering the batting responsibility of the team throughout the season. And yesterday it was nothing unusual as he scored 47 balls 61 which included seven fours. He not helped Royals put up a challenging total of 170 on the board but consolidated his chase for the Orange Cap.
Shane Watson: He punished the Warriors in the last match they met and in the return leg also he did not fail to impress. He played a flamboyant innings and scored 58 of just 31 deliveries which was laced with six fours and four huge sixes.
Ajit Chandila: Little known Chandila playing only in his second game of the IPL did not leave any stone unturned to leave an impression in the tournament. The off spinner from Haryana was the wrecker in chief for the Royals and he just ran through Warriors batting line-up. He picked up four wickets including the first hat-trick of his IPL career and this year’s tournament as well. He returned with figures of 4-13.
Pune Warriors India:
Hits:
Ashish Nehra: He was off rhythm in few of the earlier matches but bowled beautifully to re-instate his captain’s faith in him. He was immaculate and bowled perfectly to return with figures of 3-23.
Flops:
Sourav Ganguly: He rested himself in the last game and came back in yesterday’s tie. Lot was expected of him considering his resilient nature, but he could not stand up to it. He scored only two out of the four balls he faced.
