Indian players might play in Sri Lankan Premier League

Chennai: In all likelihood, Indian players might participate of the inaugural edition of the Sri Lankan Premier League (SLPL) should the Sri Lankan cricket board make any such proposal.

The tournament is scheduled to happen this year from August 10-31 and would see seven teams in action. Each of these teams can have six overseas players in team and four in the playing XI. The tournament which was scheduled to last year was postponed due to several allegations. Indian players were expected to play in the tournament but then the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) barred them due to some reasons.

"Last time there were specific reasons why the BCCI was not able to support the tournament and it we did communicated the same to the Sri Lankan board. But this year if any proposals are made, we will examine it. And we have to be satisfied that the doubts and problems we had last time will be erased,” said N. Srinivasan president of BCCI.
