Kolkata: Blaming the Wankhede Stadium groundstaff for his team's defeat to Mumbai Indians Wednesday, Rajasthan Royals wicketkeeper Sreevats Goswami Thursday alleged that the track was changed without informing the Royals.
"They changed the wicket (at the last moment) without informing us," Goswami told mediapersons on the sidelines of his team's nets at the Eden Gardens here.
Goswami said on the eve of Royals' match against Kolkata Knight Riders, the Wankhede ground staff were rolling a different wicket, "which we were told would be used for the match".
However, he claimed before the game the strip was changed "without informing us". "Rahul bhai opted to bowl without knowing that a different surface would be used," Goswami said.
The Royals lost the game by 27 runs as they were bowled out for 170 in 19.4 overs in reply to Mumbai's 197 for six. (IANS)
