New Delhi: A hattrick by Md. Ashik Mahmud Sagor of Bangladesh Institute of Sports (BIS), Bangladesh sank the formidable St. John’s Hr. Sr. Sec School, Tirunelveli, in a group matchup of the 40th Junior Nehru Hockey Tournament played here at the DhyanChand Stadium here on Sunday. The battle of the equals vying for a win saw the Bangladeshi side dominate the match from the initial moments as the first goal in the fourth minute itself.

Nine minutes later Ashik found his name on the scorecard again as he scored the second of the match. His third goal came just six minutes before the half time. Just a minute before the half time, the Bangladeshi side increased the lead and scored the fourth goal of the match through Md. Deen Islam Emon. Having an advantage of four goals, BIS maintained their strong hold on the match and pumped in three more goals to sail home.

In another match Baba Gurmukh Singh Uttam Sr. Sec. School, Khadoor Sahib, Taran beat NCC Directorate, Chandigarh 7-2.
