New Delhi: Chandigarh defeated host Haryana 2-1 to enter the final of 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Men National Championship (North Zone) played at Sonepat, Haryana on Sunday.
In the semi-final-1, Chandigarh took lead in the 9th minute with the field goal scored by Milanpreet Singh but Haryana leveled the score in the 31st minute. Milanpreet Singh score second goal for Chandigarh in the 34th minute which helped his team to win the semi-final.
The Hockey Maharashtra edged out the host Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd 2-1 in Pool A and enter the semi-finals of the 3rd Hockey India Sub-Junior Women National Championship (West Zone) played at Mumbai Hockey Association Limited Ground Maharashtra on Sunday.
Alaknanda Bagadi scored opening goal for The Hockey Maharastra in the 40th minute. Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd leveled the score in the 64th minute but second goal scored by Alaknanda helped The Hockey Maharashtra to win their last league match. Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy who topped Pool A has already qualified for semi-finals.
In Pool B Rajasthan defeated Chhattisgarh 3-1 while Goa beat Gujarat 2-0.
Both Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are through to the semi-finals. Semi-finals will be played on Monday 15 April 2013.

Pool B – Rajasthan 3 (Rachna Challan 16, Tanya Singla 21 and Aarti 64) beat Chhattisgarh 1 (Disha Nagvanshi 30)
Goa 2 (Maheshwari Haldankar 49, Tannia Dsouza 57 ) beat Gujarat 0
