Jr. Nationals: MPHA to face Haryana in final

00 hockeyNew Delhi: Priyanka Wankhede scored five goals, as Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy scored easy victory over Punjab 8-0 to enter the final of the 3rd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship at the Astroturf Hockey Academy in Ranchi on Tuesday.

Goal scorers for MPHA were Priyanka Wankhede (10th, 45th, 50th, 56th, 59thmin), Diksha Tiwari (19th min), Reena Rathore (29th min) and R Ramngaihzuali (47th min). Punjab failed to avail any scoring chances.

In the final, Haryana will take on Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy while Jharkhand will play Punjab in the 3/4th position match.


Earlier, Haryana defeated Jharkhand 2-1 in the first semi-final.

Reena Rani scored two goals for Haryana in the 26th and 52nd minute while Etwari Mundu scored the only goal for Jharkhand in the 53rd minute.
