New Delhi: Defending champion Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy has been drawn in Group A along with Mizoram and Andhra Pradesh in the 2nd Hockey India Junior Women National Championship to be held at the Motilal Nehru School of Sports in Rai, Sonepat (Haryana) from October 1 to 12.

Hockey India selectors and Government Observer will watch the players to select the probables for the next coaching camps ahead of the FIH Junior Women World Cup to be held in 2013.

As many as 29 Hockey India’s member units have confirmed their participation in the championship which will be played on a league cum knockout basis on artificial turf. The inaugural match shall be played between Mizoram and Andhra Pradesh in Pool A on October 1. Final match will be played 12 October.

Hockey India will give host Hockey Haryana a grant of Rs. 13 lakh for organising the championship.
