Salwan outplays Chi-Shan Jao

In the first round of the ITF juniors grade ‘II' tennis tournament at the DLTA Complex, national sub-junior champion Karan Salwan defeated top-seeded Chi-Shan Jao of Chinese Taipei 7-6(4), 3-6, 6-2 on Monday, reports The Hindu.

Entrepreneur Raj Kundra and actor Danjay Dutt launched a mixed martial arts (MMA) tournament, Super Fight League (SFL), on Monday. MMA allows a fighter to use both grappling and striking techniques. The sport includes different form of martial arts such as boxing, wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, muay Thai, kickboxing, taekwondo, karate and judo. DNA reports, the first season will start from March 11 at the Andheri Sports Complex.

Australian captain Michael Clarke on a lighter note said that he is lucky that he is not an Indian selector. Clarke said that Indian players have got great records and have played lots of important innings and that makes selectors life more difficult as one cannot drop them, reports Mid Day.

 

BCCI has come out in support of the Indian coach Duncan Fletcher.  The board said that the poor performance by the Indian team under his tenure is just a coincidence and Fletcher is not totally responsible for it, reports The Times of India.
