The ninth Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon (SCMM) will start today. Simon Kasimili from Kenya will hit the front and will lead his fellow countrymen and Ethiopians players, reports the Hindu. The SCMM is tagged with Gold Label status by the IAAF because of the quality of the runners each year. Indian's marathoners both men and women, are racing against the clock with their focus firmly on AFI ‘B' grade qualification.
The India ODI team for the triangular series will be picked by the selectors today. India will face Australia and Sri Lanka in the series which will begin In Melbourne on Feb. 5. There are speculations been made that Sachin Tendulkar will be available for the series.The selectors are expected to select a 16-member squad which is likely to comprise seven specialist batsmen, two wicket-keeper batsmen and seven bowlers, reports the Hindu
Times of India reports that there are chances that VVS Laxman’s inning of 0, in the ongoing Perth test match may just be his last inning in his international career. Laxman has had a tough series so far averaging only 17 in the six innings that he has played. Laxman failed to make an impression in the England series as well and that might add on to the trouble that he is in.
