New Delhi: An eight-member Indian boxing team left for Pakistan to participate in the 2nd Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Boxing Tournament to be held in Islamabad from December 22 to 30. The tournament will feature a total of 132 boxers from 18 nations, including Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Ghana, India, Iran, Kenya, Mongolia, Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, Slovenia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Uganda, Uzbekistan and hosts Pakistan.
The second edition of the tournament is being organised by the Pakistan Boxing Federation in collaboration with International Boxing Association (IBA) and Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC). The event being held at the Liaquat Gymnasium Sports Complex in Islamabad, will offer a prize of US$ 5,000 to the team finishing first and $ 2,000 for the runners-up squad, along with cash incentives for individual medal winners.
