Kolkata: Unseeded Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan tuned up his impressive display a notch higher to down fourth-seeded Karunuday Singh in straight sets in the semifinals of the $10,000 ITF men's Futures tennis here on Friday.
Emulating Jeevan's fine showing was another unseeded player N. Sriram Balaji, who swept aside the challenge of third-seeded N. Vijay Sundar Prashanth in a lopsided encounter.
Balaji also brightened the possibility of earning a double crown as he successfully paired up with compatriot K. Vinayak Sharma to win the doubles crown later in the day.
The two beat Jeevan and Prashanth in a well-contested final that was decided in the super tie-breaker.
