Third win for Hou Yifan

New Delhi: Hou Yifan's superior preparation and K. Humpy's indifferent time-management was on view once again as the Chinese champion won the seventh game of their World chess championship match at Tirana, Albania, on Wednesday.

Though the game lasted 97 moves, Humpy's defeat looked clear after the first time control of 40 moves.

In fact, the Indian challenger played the last 32 moves after being two pawns down with both players having a rook apiece.

Yifan's third victory, and first with white pieces, gave her a commanding 5-2 lead. She needs just a draw from the remaining three games to retain the title.
