ITF Futures from today

New Delhi: Saketh Myneni and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan will be the ones to watch when the $15,000 ITF men's Futures tennis tournament starts at the DLTA Complex on Monday.

The champions of the first two events in the current circuit in Chennai and Pune, Saketh and Jeevan, may possibly meet in the second round, which could make for some riveting action. Both have tuned their game while pursuing education in the US and thus are quite strong in their execution.

However, Saketh will have to successfully negotiate Davis Cupper Karan Rastogi in the first round. He had lost in three sets, two of them in tie-breaks in the second round to Karan last week. Jeevan also has a battle on hand in the first round when he faces Mohit Mayur, a fast-improving player from Chennai who has been getting adequate support from the State Association to groom his talent.

The seedings: 1. Junn Mitsuhashi (Jpn), 2. Vishnu Vardhan, 3. Karan Rastogi, 4. Daniel Cox (GBR), 5. Vijayant Malik, 6. Nikolaus Moser (Aut), 7. V.M. Ranjeet, 8. Rohan Gajjar.
