Cavalry-Jindal Polo triumph

New Delhi: Samir Suhag smashed five goals in powering Cavalry-Jindal Polo to a 11-9 victory over Jindal-Carysil in the final of the Reid and Taylor Indian Open polo championship at the Jaipur Polo ground, here on Sunday.

It was a clinical performance by Cavalry-Jindal Polo as it took a 7-3 lead by the end of the third chukker.

Except for the fourth chukker when the eventual champion failed to record a goal, it was always a losing battle for Jindal-Carysil.

Vishal Chauhan, Ravi Rathore and Tarun Sirohi scored two goals each for the winner which led 11-7 in the sixth and last chukker, before Jindal-Carysil bridged the gap.

Dhruvpal Godara was the most successful for the loser with three goals.

Gaurav Sahgal, Simran Shergill and George Meryick came up with two goals apiece.
