Mumbai: With the big-serving Rohan Bopanna breaking into the top-10 of the ATP individual doubles ranking on Monday, new options are emerging for India in the men's doubles competition for the 2012 Olympics. The 'Indian Express' in the London Summer Games is unlikely to be the original pairing of Mahesh Bhupathi (No.7) and Paes (No.8).
Lee and Hesh are heading for splitsville, according to sources close to the players. So, while the three-time Grand Slam champions will play the World Tour Final starting in London on Sunday together, they are unlikely to feature on the same side of the net in the 2012 season.
Sources close to Paes and Bhupathi said that the break-up was triggered by the fact that Paes wanted to partner Rohan Bopanna next year. However, 2012 is likely to see Bopanna and Bhupathi forge a partnership.
