Judo player accuses govt of bias

Chandigarh: In a clear case of partiality and favouritism, the Haryana government has failed to provide a job to a judoka, who brought laurels to the state by winning many national and international competitions.

Judo player Divya is been given the job of a teacher on contractual basis, while others who have represented the state in the national games have been given a job in the police department under sports quota.

Divya has also represented the nation in the Beijing Olympics in 2008. She also represented the nation in the Commonwealth Judo Championship 2004 held in New Zealand.

“I am soliciting for my right. I have also taken the matter to the Haryana Chief Minister, but all I get is false assurances,” said Divya.
