Good start for Arundhati in Bitburger Open

Nagpur: Making the mockery of her opponent, Arundhati Pantawane entered the second round of the Bitburger Open in Germany on Wednesday.

The ace city shuttler ousted Germany's Kim Buss 21-12, 21-13 in the women's singles first round. The world No. 67, Arundhati needed just 23 minutes to send local girl packing.

The 22-year-old Arundhati dominated Buss, world No. 190, in both the games with brilliant all-round performance. Arundhati will have to play even better as she is slated to meet No. 6 seed Petya Nedelcheva in the second round on Thursday. The world No. 18 Bulgarian defeated Carola Bolt of Germany 21-16, 21-6 in the first round.

"The draw is pretty tough for me. Petya is an experienced player and I have to raise my game to get the better of her. But I will give my best and looking forward to another challenge tomorrow," Arundhati told TOI on Wednesday.
