Now, kabaddi players caught in doping net

Bangalore: Steroids and a stimulant were traced in urine samples of kabaddi players preparing for the 2nd World Cup Kabaddi, Punjab, raising doubts in the anti-doping circles whether drug abuse could be rampant in the sport.

Ten samples of the 21 tested at the National Dope Testing Laboratory have been found positive. The prohibited substances found in these samples were stanozolol, boldenone, nandrolone, phentermine (stimulant).

Around 51 samples were collected on October 5 during the trials in Ludhiana and the apprehension is that more positive cases may emerge in coming days.
