Indian swimmers continue fine run

New Delhi: India's Sandeep Sejwal added the 200m breaststroke to his list of events at the 2012 London Olympics despite finishing third at the 7th Asian age-group swimming in Indonesia.

Sejwal clocked 2:16.33, just two micro-seconds under the FINA invitational qualification. Arjuna Awardee Virdhaval Khade also continued his good run at the event by winning the 100m freestyle with a timing of 0:50.31. Meanwhile, Aaron D'Souza finished third in the same event.

Richa Mishra gave India another gold of the day in 400m individual medley, clocking 5:11.23. Rehan Poncha won the 400m individual medley clocking 4:33.77 while Saurabh Sangvekar won 1500m freestyle with a time of 15:59.45.

In the 4x100m medley relay, the Indian squad of Poncha, Sejwal, Khade and D'Souza settled for a silver. Meanwhile, Indian junior boys finished sixth in the water polo competition.
