Mary Kom may quit after London Olympics

Bhopal: Winning a gold medal in the Olympics is one of the biggest achievements for any sportsperson and the same holds true for five-time women's world boxing champion MC Mary Kom.

In an exclusive chat with TOI, the star pugilist revealed her intention to quit boxing after the 2012 Olympics, possibly with a gold medal around her neck.

It was sheer courage and passion that made 'Magnificent Mary' clinch five world titles. The mother of two has participated in six World Championships and won medals in all of them. She won the silver in the first Worlds she participated in but thereafter has been invincible.

The only unconquered ring is the Olympics. "I have five world titles but an Olympic gold will make a big difference," Mary said.
