New Delhi : Young Davis Cuppers Vishnu Vardhan and Yuki Bhambri are expected to be the main players , at the DLTA Complex here, starting Monday.
Vijay Sundar Prashanth, V.M. Ranjeet, P.C. Vignesh and former champion Nitten Kirrtane will be the other big names in the draw, which awaits the announcement of wild-cards on Friday, a day before the qualifying event.
The size of the draw for the qualifying event in all sections have been cut down to 64 from 256 in the past.
In the women's section, Prerna Bhambri, Sharmada Balu, Rushmi Chakravarthi, Rishika Sunkara, Sheethal Goutham and Shivika Burman will be the top players in contention, as per the national ranking.
The men's and women's champions will receive Rs.1.5 lakh and Rs.1 lakh respectively. The runners-up will be presented Rs.1 lakh and Rs.65,000 respectively.
The under-18 championships will also be held along with the men's and women's tournament over the week starting Monday while the following week will see action in the under-16 and under-14 events.
