Zimbabwe-bound squad has enough firepower to win the series: Virat Kohli

Indian captain for the Zimbabwe-bound team, Virat Kohli, feels that this particular squad has enough firepower to win the series in Zimbabwe as they had been working hard and results of that would be very soon displayed in their performance. Indian team will be missing the services of MS Dhoni, Ravi Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav during the series.

Virat was quoted by Hindustan Times saying, "I don't think experience matters, especially in limited overs game. You need 11 players, who are hungry for success, who are hard-working and whose vision is team's victory. All 15 players are strong and it is a strong unit, which is good." He foresees that if the good work continues on this tour, then Indian cricket fans will be having a great time watching them winning one more series.

"I can't guarantee. If we continue this way, it will be a good time for Indian cricket. I always like to lead from the front and set an example for whoever is playing with me or around me. I like taking responsibilities. That is a natural thing for me," he added.

Indian team recently won the final edition of ICC Champions Trophy which was followed by the tri-nation series in West Indies but both the sides were led by Dhoni and it would be worth watching how this young right-handed batsman will fill in the boots of his skipper. Kohli believes that his ability to make some bold decision would be tested under the challenging circumstances and is ready to set the example for his side with his strong performance in this series.

He was quoted by The Hindu saying, "The best quality is to not be afraid of anything. Even if you have seniors or players with lot more experience in your team, you need to have confidence in your ability and think you can lead them. It is important you set an example with your performance quickly and then you gain respect.”

"If the respect is mutual between players and captain then the side is successful. It comes from performance and when you win matches for the team, that inspiration spreads in the team," he said.

Kohli is also cheered up with the inclusion of Parveez Rasool and expects him to deliver his best performance whenever he gets a chance to roll his arm over. The stylish right-handed batsman was quoted by Indian Express saying, "It is a good sign that players are not just coming from major cities. You can see everybody is working hard and the thinking is not narrow-minded in India. It is a good sign that he (Rasool) has been selected. If he gets the opportunity to play a match then I am sure he will try to give a good performance."
