“Nothing will be swept under the carpet, even if it’s regarding MS Dhoni,” says the interim president of BCCI, Jagmohan Dalmiya. He has cleared the air that if in the probe it comes out that Dhoni really has some stakes in the sports management firm which not just manages him but also several other Indian cricketers, then a strict action will be taken against him.
Indian captain found himself into trouble when the reports regarding his stake in Rhiti Sports came into limelight. This sports management company also manages
Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja and Pragyan Ojha, apart from Dhoni. Dalmiya was quoted by Hindustan Times saying, "I had said nothing will be swept under the carpet, even if it is Dhoni." This issue came under scrutiny because Dhoni is leading the team and also has stakes in the sports management company at the same point of time.
Dalmiya pointed out how the Board has changed its approach in past few years in keeping track of players and their conflict of interests. The interim BCCI Chief was quoted by DNA saying, "We have changed our mode of working. We don't believe you have to be after any player or anybody. Therefore, the players will have to declare their interest in sports management companies. We will see how we can help them."
The BCCI acting president also threw some light on the matter of Pradeep Sangwan who was tested positive in the random dope test that was conducted during the sixth edition of IPL. He was quoted saying, “BCCI will follow the procedures as per anti-doping code".
Dalmiya also said that the annual contract for coaches and support staff for special academies has been renewed for one year.
