I am just 32 and I believe that I can still play in all formats, says Yuvraj

“I am young enough to play in all the formats,” says out-of-favour dashing middle-order batsman, Yuvraj Singh. He feels that he has that fitness level to play all the three formats and is working hard to make his comeback into the Indian squad. He is going to play in the domestic circuit this season, but before that he is looking to get his hands on the local tournaments which can keep him in good touch.

Yuvi was quoted by Deccan Herald saying, "I am just 32 and I believe that I can still play in all the formats. I have had a good training during off-season and eagerly waiting for the domestic season to start. I have been training very hard and would now like to play a few local tournaments before the first-class season begins. I am really confident of making a comeback."

Yuvraj is happy that youngsters are being given opportunities on consistent basis which he thinks will surely boost their confidence. Apart, he believes that the trio of Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar is very effective and to avoid any injury they should be rotated on a consistent basis.

Meanwhile, The Times of India quoted the Southpaw saying, "It's a great thing that youngsters are getting a lot of chances and they should utilize that to the fullest."

"We have some good pace bowlers in Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma. Varun Aaron is also a good prospect. I believe that since we are playing in all three formats, these bowlers should be rotated and given enough rest," he said

He also stressed on the fact that as more facility is available for the budding cricketers we can expect them to be in better shape and training hard should be the motto of anyone who wants to be a cricketer.

"I didn't have all the modern facilities under one roof when I was training to become a cricketer. I would practise at one place, then head off to a gymnasium located at another part of the city and then go for a swimming session. Nowadays proper training is very important and kids should get the facilities under one roof," he said.

Meanwhile, the one kid who has impressed this stylish left-hander is none other than Arjun Tendulkar who according to Yuvraj seems to carry the passion of cricket from his father, Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin has always been rated as the most complete batsman that the world cricket has ever seen. Though, Arjun hasn’t explored that much of his batting but Yuvraj feels that he has got the right technique and temperament which is the prime requirement.

He was quoted by The New Indian Express saying, "I saw Arjun batting in the nets and was really impressed with his technique and his passion. It is clear that this passion is coming straight from his father.”

A Mumbai selector was earlier quoted by a newspaper as saying that Arjun's fielding was not up to the standards expected and that he needed to work on a few aspects to come back into the reckoning.
